Nokia is shutting down it flagship UK high street store after just two years of operation, citing lack luster sales.
The store will close in Q1 2010 and Nokia does not plan to open another London-based retail outlet. Thirty employees are affected by the closure but may be redeployed within the company.
“Nokia is crystallising its branded retail strategy, aiming at improving operational efficiency of its retail network. This requires revamping of the retail network,” Nokia told Mobile Today.
The move follows Sony Ericsson’s closure last year of its flagship UK-based retail store after the outlet failed to turn a profit.
