Have things gone to far when commercial jets are tweeting and Facebooking? Mashable.com says that, okay, the airline, not the jet is tweeting. And the service, MySkyStatus, by Lufthansa, might actually be useful for those awaiting your arrival at St. Tropez.

Friends and relatives get tweets and posts with status reports such as, "flying over Grantsville, Utah 84029, USA on United Airlines", or "flying over San Francisco Intl, California 94030, USA".  The posts are pulled about once per hour from a database of flight information.
