China Mobile and China Unicom have signed frame agreements to continue purchasing GSM, WCDMA and TD-SCDMA gear from Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN).

The frame agreements are worth €750 million, the company said.

Under the agreement, China Mobile will buy GSM, TD-SCDMA and IMS solutions. Unicom will buy NSN’s GSM, W-CDMA and HSPA equipment as well as its “direct tunnel” packet core technology.

NSN said it was strengthening its manufacturing, R&D, operations and distribution in China.

It has located three of its nine manufacturing sites in China and has established a TD-LTE competence centre in Hangzhou, with plans to increase its R&D staff during 2010.
