Twitter paid $5m for geolocation start-up Mixer Labs in late December, according to SEC filings.

Orange and LG Electronics have signed a three-year deal enabling LG France to sell flat screen TVs with easy access to multimedia services from Orange in France.

Google has hired the former communications head in charge of John McCain's presidential campaign, Jill Hazelbaker, to run corporate communications.

Mexico regulator Cofetel said that 44 companies have purchased bidding rules for the auction 1850MHz-1990MHz spectrum, and 49 companies had bought rules for the 1710MHz -2170MHz auction. Both auctions are scheduled to be completed before the end of June.

Facebook has launched a fellowship program that will pay tuition and fees for five US based Ph.D students. Eligible students need to be researching areas linked to topics such as internet economics, cloud computing and data mining.
