Sony Ericsson is hosting a five-a-side soccer tournament this Friday, in a bid to raise £24,000 (€28,877) for a UK children’s charity. Teams from Sony Music, O2, T-Mobile and Vodafone are among those competing.

Some 82% of global cariers surveyed by Infonetics plan to deploy LTE between 2012 and 2014, the research firm says. Just over half of the operators making the switch will use HSPA+ as an interim measure, the survey found.
