European standards agency ETSI will continue to collaborate with South Korean counterpart the Telecommunications Technology Association, under an extended deal signed yesterday. The groups have worked together since 1992 to promote common ICT standards.

Motorola now has eleven Android smartphone models on sale in China, after unveiling three new Ming devices yesterday that feature TD-SCDMA, CDMA and WCDMA technologies.

Samsung has shipped 1 million Android-based Galaxy S smartphones in the US since launch in mid-July.

Thailand's first-round 3G auction attracted just three eligible bidders, with MVNO Samart pulling out while a fifth company submitted an incomplete bid.

SingTel will open pre-registration for a new 200Mbps fiber service tomorrow, before launching new consumer and business applications later in September. The telco will also offer wholesale carriage-based services to retail service providers.
