Losses from online banking fraud in the UK grew 14% to £59.7 million (€65.4 million) in 2009, as criminals used increasingly sophisticated methods to target weaknesses in users' PC security, the UK Cards Association said. In contrast, card fraud was down 25% to £440.3 million.
 
Apple's secretive developer program license agreement gives the company the right to kill apps at any time, and attempts to limit Apple's liability to $50 (€37) in damages, according to the EFF. The policy also bans developers from making public comments about the agreement or developing apps with Apple's SDK for rival app stores.
 
The adult entertainment industry is rejecting yet another push to have ICANN specify a .xxx domain name suffix, fearing it would create a porn site “ghetto.”  
 
Microsoft’s Bing search and mapping services will be installed on Motorola’s Android handsets, Reuters reports
 
Ireland’s first NGN test centre opened yesterday at the Waterford Institute of Technology. The university’s Telecommunications Software & Systems Group centre was funded by Enterprise Ireland and Ericsson Ireland, and developed alongside telco Eircom.
