Voice services over Adaptive Multi-user channels on One Slot, or VAMOS, a recent initiative of 3GPP, is the next step in the evolution of GSM voice services.

VAMOS doubles transceiver peak capacity and optimizes spectrum utilization, while reducing radio base station power consumption.
