Apple and RIM are being sued for patent infringement by a little-known Texas company.
The pair are named alongside AT&T, Samsung, Sanyo, LG, and Motorola in a lawsuit filed in the US by SmartPhone Technologies LLC.
It claims the firms infringe on seven of its patents, and is seeking compensation, Newsolio.com reports.
The patents mentioned in the lawsuit cover Bluetooth, E-mail, network routing, device power management, and enablement of phone functionality in a personal computer.
SmartPhone Technologies LLC is not affiliated with SmartPhone Technologies Inc. The former firm has no website, and can only be contacted through its lawyers in the case, Ward & Smith Law Firm.
