Alca-Lu signs $1.7b in China deals

Alcatel-Lucent has signed framework agreements worth $1.7 billion with China Mobile and China Telecom.
 
The contracts, signed through Shanghai-based Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell (ASB), are for network upgrades, integration and maintenance services in 2009, the company announced  Monday.
 
Under a $1 billion deal with China Mobile, Alcatel-Lucent will supply GSM/EDGE, TD-SCDMA, optical and IP equipment.
 
In a $700 million contract with China Telecom, Alcatel-Lucent will deliver CDMA/EV-DO equipment, application platforms and optical and IP solutions.
